Rental management, a daily headache.

Rently Pro speaks to rental professionals, the people who juggle dozens of properties, bookings and deadlines every single day. Their reality is scattered spreadsheets, messages that get lost and payments that need chasing — a time-consuming routine where the smallest slip costs dearly, in time and in reputation. A slot double-booked, a deposit forgotten, a reminder sent too late: small cracks that, added together, erode both profitability and peace of mind.

Rently Pro's bet was to gather all that disorder into a single, clear and reliable application. Not yet another tool piled onto the stack, but the central platform that replaces spreadsheets and message threads, and gives managers back control of their business, wherever they are. The ambition was to make the app the first reflex of the morning and the last screen of the evening — the one place where you know, at a glance, exactly where every property and every tenant stands. For a manager, that gain in peace of mind matters as much as the gain in time: knowing nothing is forgotten, that every deadline is tracked and every piece of information is up to date changes the relationship with work altogether. It's this peace of mind, as much as efficiency, that Rently Pro set out to deliver.

The challenge we faced.

The first challenge was functional density. A rental management app has to cover property availability, bookings, tenant relations, condition reports and payments — without ever becoming unreadable. Too many features poorly orchestrated, and the tool meant to simplify ends up complicating things more than the spreadsheets it replaces. We had to constantly arbitrate between richness and clarity, and decide what deserved to sit in the foreground.

The second challenge was trust. The moment an app touches money and property data, the smallest lag or inconsistency plants doubt, and doubt is enough to send a user back to their old files. We needed an experience that was both rich and reassuring: clear journeys, secure payments, explicit confirmations and reliability felt in every interaction, on mobile first, since managers rarely work sitting at a desk. We had to convince not through a pitch, but through the experience itself: it's by using the app, and finding it more trustworthy than their spreadsheets, that a user would agree to hand it their business.

Our tailored response.

We structured the app around the real gestures of the job rather than technical menus: a dashboard that goes straight to the point, booking management in a few taps and payment tracking readable at a glance. Design was led by our apps team, iterating with real users: their habits, not a theoretical spec, dictated how the screens were organised.

Every screen was refined by our UX/UI team to cut mental load: a clear hierarchy, primary actions always within thumb's reach, polished loading states and error messages that actually make sense. On the payments side, integration was designed for security and transparency, the two non-negotiable conditions for adoption: users always see what's paid, what's owed and what's been chased. Nothing is left in the dark. Reminders, once forgotten or sent too late, become a reflex guided by the app, which directly improves a manager's cash flow with no extra effort on their part.

The levers we used.

The project brought together product design, application development and robust back-end architecture. This integrated approach, led by our apps team, guarantees a consistent app from the first screen through to payment processing, with no visible seams for the user. Technical solidity here isn't an engineer's luxury: it's the condition for trust, because one wrong or lost piece of financial data would be enough to sink adoption. So we invested as much in the reliability of processing and data consistency as in the beauty of the screens, convinced that invisible robustness is part and parcel of the experience users perceive.

We also prepared Rently Pro's reach beyond the app itself: a solid base for a future showcase site linked through our web team, and acquisition fed by SEO. However good a product is, it's not enough on its own — it still has to be made known, its value explained, and adoption made easy from the very first opening. So we thought about the ecosystem around the app just as much as the app itself.

What we took away.

On a business app, real sophistication is invisible: it's measured by the time users no longer waste and the mistakes they no longer make. Every added feature had to earn its place on the screen, on pain of diluting the whole. This project confirms our method — starting from the real gestures of the job, observed and validated in the field, rather than from a list of possible features. A successful management app doesn't draw attention to itself: it fades behind the work it makes easier, and it's precisely by that discretion that its quality is recognised.

We also took away that trust is won in the details: a confirmation at the right moment, an accurate figure, a reversible action. Do you have a business tool or an app to design? Explore our other work or talk to our team about it.
